Gerald DeGroot
What you need to know:
Gerald co-founded The Dharma Initiative with his wife, Karen DeGroot, in 1970. He was a doctoral candidate from the University of Michigan, following in the footsteps of visionaries such as B.F. Skinner. His dream for The Dharma Initiative was to create a large communal research facility allowing scientists and free thinkers to study the social science implications of meteorology, psychology, parapsychology, zoology, electro-magnetism and utopian sociology. Their goal was realized through the financial backing of Alvar Hanso.
