Mystery Status: Solved
 A mysterious Cable was first discovered by Sayid on a beach. The cable comes out of the jungle and goes into the ocean, connecting the Flame Station with the Looking Glass Station.
Things You Should Know About:
- The cable comes out of the ground in the jungle by a ravine and connects to the underwater station, The Looking Glass
- Sayid was the first to find the Cable
- Hurley followed it into the jungle to seek Danielle's help
- Desmond takes Jin, Charlie and Hurley to the cable because he saw it in a vision
- Charlie and Desmond follow the cable out into the water to find the Looking Glass Station

Season 1
After torturing Sawyer, Sayid isolated himself and began exploring the island. He found the cable just below the sand going from the ocean to the jungle. Upon following this cable he became trapped and captured by Danielle. (S1E9, Solitary)
Later, when Hurley wanted to find Danielle for himself to ask her about the Numbers, he followed the cable as well, and saw that it lead into the ground just a few hundred feet in front of the rope bridge across a ravine. (S1E18, Numbers)
Season 3
Locke, Sayid and Kate find the Flame Station, and in it, Mikhail Bakunin. Mikhail tells them there are many cables that lead from the Flame to other stations on the island for the purposes of communications, and also for a sonar beacon that is used by the Others' submarine. While in the Flame, Sayid aquires some documents. (S3E11, Enter 77)
Desmond has a vision that a helicopter will crash during the night and that he will see it from the spot in which Sayid found the cable. He takes Jin, Charlie and Hurley with him to camp out on that section of beach because they are also in the vision. This group follows the cable into the jungle to find the downed pilot of the helicopter.(S3E17, Catch-22)
Using the documents purloined from the Flame, Sayid figures out that the cable runs to an underwater station called the Looking Glass, in which Juliet claims there is a signal jamming all communication on and off the island. Charlie and Desmond trek down the beach until they find the cable, and then follow it by boat until it leads them just over the station, where Charlie will attempt to swim and turn off the jamming signal.
